Rocket Men
I could have chosen almost any track from Build A Rocket Boys! and argued for it being one of the best things I’d heard all year. But much as I love the more obvious and commercial tracks, there’s something wonderfully understated about this one, built around a minimal bass and piano accompaniment, yet hugely affecting. And, as Guy Garvey explains in his introduction above, it’s a list song too!
